Tomorrow's cupping event at the Stone Creek Coffee Factory, 422 N. 5th
Street in downtown Milwaukee, is tailor-made for those who love the bean that
originates in the diverse terrain and varied climate of Colombia. The samples,
representing a range of offerings, will include a Supremo, a Huila and a Cauca.
It's also very likely that we'll brew up a batch of our current production
Colombian for comparison at the end of the cupping.
In a recent email, our Roast Master Stephen Bybee kindly summed up the prospects for tomorrow's event this way: "[M]ild, aggressive, flamboyant... good, bad, ugly... we will try four different Colombian offerings and try to discern similarities and differences. Perhaps we can figure out what makes a Colombian coffee a Colombian coffee. So a Platonic dialogue on the essence of Colombian coffee." Ah, yes, big expectations deserve big words, no?
Come join us by the fireplace for this FREE Colombian cupping, which also includes a discussion format based on the ever popular, oh so pedagogical teaching stylings of that old Philosophical reprobate... your friend and ours... let's all give him a warm welcome... that's right, you guessed it... Plato! (Answer to the meaning of life and other deep questions not included.)
