In honor of Fair Trade Month--that's right, go ahead and gape in stunned
disbelief that October is both Chili Month and Fair Trade Month--we would like
to invite you to a very special cupping tomorrow at the Stone Creek Factory in
downtown Milwaukee. For your discriminating palates and sampling pleasure, we'll
be serving and learning about Fair Trade Certified and fair trade related
coffees at 9:00AM sharp.
What, you may ask, are fair trade related coffees? Well, they are coffees that are purchased by wholesale buyers under guidelines similar to those developed by the Fair Trade Labeling Organizations International (FLO) but which allow for various models of fairness and justice that do not necessarily meet official Fair Trade Certification standards. Stone Creek's own Socially Responsible Guidelines are a good example of this as they are based on the work of multiple Alternative Trade Organizations (ATO's) that have established themselves as leaders in the definition and promotion of fair trade.
Now, with that satisfactorily explained, we can again extend a sincere invitation to you, your friends, family and neighbors to come the Stone Creek Factory, 422 N 5th Street in Milwaukee, at 9:00AM for a javacation that celebrates all that is fair and right in the world. Let Justice and Amazing Coffee Prevail!
