What basic elements go into making a quotable quote? Is it eloquence?
Relevance? Preponderance? Perhaps it's simply the excessive use of words ending
in "-ance" and "-ence". Or perhaps not. After pondering this question for some
time, we've come to the conclusion that the most essential ingredient in a
quotable quote is its importance (sorry, last time, we swear), and there's no
better person to prove this fact than Stone Creek Coffee's esteemed executive
manager of sales and marketing, Steve Hawthorne.
Indeed, Steve gave many quotable quotes during a recent interview with Christopher Heine of Wholesalecentral.com, the online wholesale directory. In the article entitled Small Retailers vs. Big Boxes, Steve makes the case for Stone Creek's notable success in a market dominated by coffee Goliaths, the largest of which shall remain nameless here. (Let's just say it shares its name with a certain beloved duo-gender character of the 1978 classic--as a man--and lately reimagined version--as a woman--of the science fiction television show Battlestar Galactica.)
While admittedly Heine's piece contains a few errors in which he manages to give Steve a sizable promotion in title (not that he doesn't deserve it, mind you) and states that Stone Creek has three retail stores when in fact we have eight within the greater Milwaukee area, it's still definitely worth a read.
