How Our Customers and Staff Sip Slowly - 9/29/2006
Posted By:   Steve Hawthorne

A few months ago Stephen bought a car-coffee maker at a thrift store. We were a little skeptical about the contraption, but to our suprise it was the one thing that salvaged a rained-out camping trip. When Stephen and I were soaking wet, with no shelter and completely bummed out, we remembered we had coffee and a coffee maker that plugged into the cigarette lighter. Sweet salvation! In the pouring rain we sat together in his Grand Am and enjoyed one of the finest cups of my life.

eric...i take my freshly ground tanzanian peaberry, packaged of course with love by my favorite roaster crew, michelle, kim, and steven, out onto my metal balcony 2 stories up in the northside neighborhood of cincy. I sit there perched like a cat over my neighborhood and sip and listen to the urban sounds that arise, usually cats wandering, hip hop hopping, possums searching, fights breaking in and out, a stray saxophone, and an assortment of the undescribables. The coffee comforts me not only for its intense flavor and pure yum-yam-yumminess but because it reminds me of all those i love so much who i was lucky enough to work with. at stone creek coffee. lucky me and lucky you, too for being able to enjoy wherever you are.

-sippin' slowly in the nati' mark.

I stop at the Wisconsin Ave Stone Creek before 7 a.m. and get a large ½ and ½ - half regular coffee of the day and half decaf coffee of the day topped off with a splash of half and half creamer. It s interesting to me that, even though two coffees are mixed in my cup, there is no conflict between the two flavors. And it's hot. I walk to work, turn on the computer, and sip slowly as I try to get trough the accumulation of e-mail before I ignore the e-mail as I concentrate on what I need to do. On weekends, I sip slowly in my kitchen, or dining room-which is where I plan and create oil paintings; weather permitting, I go outside to encourage and watch my garden grow. Stone Creek is a great part of my day. Thanks.

I sip slowly daily...and always with good company. Monday through Friday I sip slowly all day long with great coworkers. On Saturday mornings I sip my Americano in the Bay View store while reading the paper and visiting with the staff. On Sunday mornings I have the honor of enjoying a cup of Naturally Spiced Cinnamon Coffee with an amazing and beautiful girl. Every summer I get to enjoy some Bold No 5 Espresso on a serene island in the Boundary Waters with five great friends. Occasionally I sit outside on a hot Louisiana day and sip on a cup of French Roast with my dad. I love my sip slowly time...because of the great company...the amazing coffee is just a bonus.
