Katrina, A World Away or Not - 9/9/2005
Posted By:   Eric Resch - Founder

As we are painfully aware the past few weeks have been filled with images of loss and destruction that is hard to comprehend through the filter of our TV or newspaper.  In these weeks we have also seen a government that, at first pass, seemed to fail its citizens in their time of need.  I will reserve discussion of this failure for another forum.  I ask that those of us associated with Stone Creek Coffee find a way to help.  Stone Creek Coffee has donated coffee to the live CBS-58 fundraiser.  We have also donated coffee to a family in Bay View who will be accepting a displaced family in their home.  If you are struggling for a way to help and cannot find an outlet I ask you use this as motivation to help someone in your neighborhood or in your city.  Katrina should be a call to action for all of us.  Katrina's winds and water have uncovered in painful detail that we have work to do.  Our company was founded on a set of values including respect, kindness and community.  In times of change and uncertainty we rely on these values.  These past few weeks have reminded me that we are responsible for each other.  We are responsible for each other.  Kindness. Respect. Community.
