I always hesitate to do it, but I finally put my snow shovel away this weekend. So, if it snows in the next few days, it’s my fault. Besides some much improved weather conditions, there are some cool things happening around Stone Creek.
Cold Brewed Coffee
Our cold brewed coffee is out in full effect in our stores. I came across a killer Organic Ugandan coffee this year that serves as the primary base for our Summer Blend (which we use for cold brew). We sprinkle in a little bit of a naturally processed Ethiopian Sidamo to add some sweetness and then cold brew it for up to 15 hours. The results are a smooth and rich beverage with notes of chocolate and a hint of berry. Try it out – you won’t be disappointed.
Summer Blend
Our Summer Blend isn’t just for iced coffee – try it in a pour over or even in your basic home brewer. The hot brewing method brings out more of the fruitiness of the Ethiopian and is complimented nicely by the chocolate and nutty flavors of the Uganda. Pick up a pound online or in any of our stores.
Store Happenings
If you haven’t already, stop into to check out our newly established Grand Avenue Lounge. In partnership with our friends at the Grand Avenue Mall, we’ve created a hip coffee lounge in the second street skywalk. Grab a coffee or your favorite espresso drink and sip slowly in our soft seating. We also have some large tables that are great for small group meetings. So if you work in the downtown area, check it out!
We’ve also recently freshened up our Wauwatosa and Shorewood locations with some new paint, furniture and artwork. Stop in to check the out and let us know what you think of the updated look!
Now for a bit of sad news…for the first time in the past several years, we will not be participating in the South Shore Farmer’s Market in Bay View. After careful thought, we’ve decided that it would be better for us to focus on other projects happening in the company. We will miss being at the market, but we encourage you to visit our store in Bay View for all of your coffee needs!
Speaking of Bay View, we are currently in the planning phase for a remodel of that location as well. We will begin the process in the next month and will be finished by early fall. Stay tuned for more details!
Like many of you, Summer is also a time for leisure travel and vacations for many of our staff. As we take some time to relax with family and friends, we are always sure to take along our favorite coffees and brewing devices so that we can sip slowly as we enjoy some fun in the sun. Ask your barista for information on how you can brew on the road – I’m sure they’ll have some good tips for you.
