Barista Feature Profile - Sarah Jensen -

Sarah began working at Stone Creek Coffee in 2009 at the Stone Creek Coffee in Oconomowoc. Right now, she is a full time student at UW - Madison studying Foreign Language. She works part time at SCC as a "gun for hire" filling in when needed, mainly at the west stores (Delafield and Oconomowoc) on weekends, holidays and during the summer time. Even with her limited time on the schedule she still somehow found a way to learn, practice and pass her barista test in LESS THAN ONE WEEK with a perfect score (Spring Break week, I should mention).
When I asked Sarah how she did it, she said "Just like last year's advanced barista training steps, it just took a couple of rushes to get used to." I asked her how she learned the craft on her own time and she replied when working rushes she "tried to stick to the free pour method" and not give up. She advises all baristas-in-training to do the same.
I asked Sarah how she felt after finding out she passed, "Awesome, Surprised and Accomplished." Well done, Sarah.
