Our Bay View Neighborhood -

Dear Customers and Neighbors:
Over the last week I have heard from many of you about the recently announced project planned on Kinnickinnic Ave in Bay View by Alterra Baking Company. So our position is clear I felt it was important to share our thoughts publically.
Since July 15, 2003, the opening day of our Bay View location, we have seen many changes on KK and in our Bay View neighborhood. Over these past seven years we have seen many new businesses open in our neighborhood.
We have seen Anodyne Coffee open. We have seen Starbucks open. We have seen Sven’s Coffee open. We have seen Wild Flour Bakery open. We have recently seen Café Centraal open among others. Each of these businesses competes with us. Yet with each opening we have welcomed the business to our neighborhood.
Consistent with our past we also welcome Alterra Baking Company to our neighborhood.
We believe that there is plenty of room for all these local businesses to thrive. We believe that growth and change in our neighborhood benefits our customers and the community as whole.
If the project is approved, and Alterra builds their bakery, we will walk across the street and welcome them just as we have welcomed every other new business to our neighborhood.
