By this time tomorrow, I'll be on the first of four flights that will ultimately land me in Vitoria da Conquista, Bahia, Brazil. I'm off to visit the Neves Family and check on the progress of this year's crop.
Five years ago, we began a relationship with the Sinay Neves Family in Brazil. Through this partnership, we have purchased nearly 213,000 pounds of coffee and donated close to $20,000 to Socially Conscious Coffee, a nonprofit group that runs a school and healthcare center on the farm.
I'm excited to get down to Brazil this year - not only will I have the opportunity to watch some of our coffee coming off of the tree, but I'll also have the chance to see the progress being made in the school. Through the marvels of modern technology, I should still be able to hop online occasionally and will do my best to post updates and photos here on the blog. Be good while I'm gone...and don't forget to Sip Slowly.
