The Lima Family

Fernando and Ernesto Lima are 6th generation coffee farm owners and operate six plantations in El Salvador.  Fernando, Ernesto and their 12 other siblings all work in the coffee business in some capacity.

We currently purchase two coffees from the Limas - one is from Finca Las Nubes and the other from Finca Santa Josefita.  These farms are located in the mountains near a village of Ataco.  Atoca is a beautiful and vibrant city.  At the center of the city is a town square that is surrounded by small shops, a fountain, church and courtyards where children play soccer.  More than 80% of the residents of Ataco work on coffee farms or in the nearby coffee processing facilities.  

In 2009, Athena and Steve visited Ataco and couldn't help but be taken aback by the abundance of positive energy in the air.  People were walking by the fountain - kids were playing soccer in front of the church...everyone was smiling!  There's nothing quite like it!

Fernando and Ernesto Lima are incredibly gracious gentlemen who are passionate about producing quality coffee in a socially responsible manner.  We are very proud of our relationship with them.
